Wyoming Children’s Museum and Nature Center LRCD financially sponsors the Museum’s “Conservation Kids” program, which includes monthly programs about various wildlife-related topics. Trish Penny is a member of the Museum Board and participates in guiding Museum operations. |

Wyoming Toad Recovery Team Since the late 1990s LRCD has played an important role on the Wyoming Toad Recovery Team, with Chair Emeritus Mike Parker, and Tony Hoch, as team members, and LRCD as a lead agency in implementing on-the-ground recovery efforts.

Wyoming State Science Fair LRCD continued to offer four monetary awards for best “Conservation Project”. Tony Hoch and Trish Penny served as judges for the Wyoming State Science Fair at the University of Wyoming in March 2007.This year’s winners were: From Laramie: Heidi Hanekamp – 7th grade/Lab School- “The Effect of Detergent on Grass Growth”, and Lingga Adidharma – 6th grade/Spring Creek Elementary - “One Man’s Waste is Another Man’s Soil”. From Pinedale: Thomas Shaffer – 6th grade/Pinedale Middle School - “Don’t Refuse to Reuse”. From Riverton: Tyler Graham – 7th grade/Riverton Middle School - “Wind River Bubot: Are they at the End of the Line?” From Casper: Patrick Rodgers – 9th grade/St. Anthony Tri Parish - “Vegetation Degradation”. All entrants did an amazing job, and we look forward to seeing the projects developed next year.

Laramie Chamber of Commerce LRCD is an active member of the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce and supports such programs as Agriculture Appreciation Night and the Laramie Business Expo.
Laramie Farmer’s Market Since its inception in 2004, LRCD has participated in the Laramie Farmer’s market as an information booth for citizens with natural resources and concerns. The Farmer’s Market is a fantastic asset to Laramie’s downtown image, economy, and social scene, as well as a great way for LRCD to have a public presence.
Albany County Planning Office LRCD works with the County Planning Office by performing reviews of proposed subdivisions in the county. Issues considered in these reviews are water, weeds, erosion, and drainage. |
