The WACD Convention

 Casper, WY

This year the Natural Resources Conference held the theme of “Wyoming’s Working Lands.”  Several hundred people attended the conference representing five organizations-Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts, Wyoming Wool Growers Association, Wyoming Wool Growers Auxiliary, Wyoming Cattle Women, and the Wyoming Stock Growers Association.  Some highlights from the convention were the livestock profitability sessions, natural resource sessions, updates on the 2007 Farm Bill, a Legislative breakfast w/ Senator Mike Enzi, awards luncheon, and live auction.  LRCD was well represented at the conference by its staff and several board members.  It was held at the Parkway Plaza, the food and accommodations were wonderful.  The greatest benefit of a conference like this is the opportunity to network with people from across the state and hear other districts concerns and issues, ultimately giving us a better understanding of the state as a whole.
