Cost Share Program

Cost Share program

2008-2009 was the sixth year for this highly successful program.  Twenty-five projects were authorized, including several living snow fences and community beautification projects.

In addition to the “traditional” projects we normally see; this year we saw more applications for community outreach and education programs.  The District cooperated with a local analytical lab to offer discount spring and well water testing.  For children, LRCD cooperated with a local grade school for an educational native garden, and we continued to contribute to the Albany County Cow Belles on their annual educational Ag Expo.  For school teachers, the program assisted Project Learning Tree outreach, a state program for teacher trainings.  In the energy conservation arena, we cost shared with the Wyoming Energy Council to set up a museum display and a traveling display for demonstrating alternative energy applications.

The program is available to all residents, businesses and non-profits in Albany County. The program objectives are to provide incentives for residents to conserve soil and water, and to beautify the landscape along public corridors in Albany County.

Up to $1000 is available for a given project on a 50-50 cash match basis. In-kind labor is not allowed as a match.

Projects may fall into any of three categories:

· Conservation Horticulture

· County Beautification Projects

· Natural Resources Education Outreach
