Xeriscape Design As the drought continues over southeastern Wyoming, low moisture landscaping is becoming more popular with landowners. One of the options that people have for low moisture and low maintenance landscaping is xeriscaping. This method combines drought tolerant trees and shrubs with flowers and grasses to create an aesthetically pleasing landscape that requires low amounts of supplemental moisture. If done properly, there is minimal maintenance required. LRCD assisted with the design of six xeriscape plots in the past year.
Xeriscape Demonstration Plot –LRCD recently spearheaded the effort to create a new demonstration plot at the east end of LaBonte Park; it features an all-native half, and a water wise half, totaling over 700 plants.
